Rose ou l’ivraie en famille

Gérard Frot-Coutaz
1989 France 60 minutes French

“Rose is an old lady, aged 84. She lives where she was born, where she has always lived at Châlon-sur-Saône, a small town by the river, in South Burgundy. “Rose is a woman of times gone-by. By age and by mentality. Born in a very poor family, she became a mother at 16, she got married at 18, she started working as young as 10 years old in a chocolate factory, and then as a seamstress. All her life she has identified herself with the values of simple people: a sense of thrift, morality, duty, simple joys.” “Rose is my grand-mother.” (Gérard Frot-Coutaz)
