The material of this film has been shot over ten years with people in the Rocinha, one of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. It tells of love, life and death as seen through the eyes of the “wonderful city” inhabitants. “Our life is a stage, a novel, is a movie ; and the movie goes on in every street, in every lane ; every day, every hour, every minute” -this says Maria do Teatro, the main character, who embodies the humanity of the poor.
