In the night of September 16, 1989, the hurricane Hugo wreaked havoc in Guadeloupe. Two years later, the camera probes memories. The film presents a mosaic of images and captures the mixture of sadness and joy conveyed in the stories told by the island’s inhabitants. The island is always on the brink of some disaster – hurricanes, eruptions and earthquakes… The film candidly conveys through a series of amusing, surprising portraits devoid of any exoticism, the image of an island inhabited by a human, profound and moving people.
