Les Porteurs d’ombres électriques

Deep in the Chinese province of Sichuan, a woman and two men, heavily laden with film reels, travel around the countryside putting on open-air film shows. From village to village, they take part in private or community festivities, bringing to the country folk the cinema with all its entertainment and dreams. But their work as projectionists is threatened with extinction by television and Chinese-style economic “liberalism”.
