Those Glowing Eyes

Simon Wilkie
1995 Namibia 56 minutes undetermined

“With glowing eyes South Africans hope for change, as attempts are made to redress the legacy of Apartheid. Those glowing eyes is a story of dispossessionn, and now, the return of land. After 21 years of living in a desert in Namibia Grandpa Loereisfontein uproots himself to make the trek back to Riemvasmaak in South Africa. Those Glowing Eyes tells the story of a community’s forced removal in 1974. Eyes glow with sadness and longing. They also glow with hope as we follow grandpa and his community taking up the work of healing wounds left by Apartheid. Those glowing eyes takes you on a lyrical journey through the events and feelings experienced by Grandpa and those close to him.” (Richard Pakleppa, Simon Wilkie)
