In May 1993, Linda Ferrer-Roca is entrusted with a collection of old negatives, found in an attic. They include a myriad of photographs of some 2000 profiles, constituting a large part of the legal file from the Vernet internment camp that existed in Ariège between 1939 and 1944 – together with images from everyday life. The film is built around the director’s invesgation in order to locate, identify and, if possible, find the people photographed. It draws on photography’s power to reactivate memories and start people talking. A mosaic of words and looks exchanged expressing the horror and the banality of internment
