The second of a three-part series intended to denounce the harmful effects of nuclear weapons, the film shows the victims of the atomic bombs just after the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and listens to the survivors give account of their lives thirty years after. The music for strings was written by the famous composer Toru Takemitsu and lends the film an ascetic and painful note.
