Due to the urban planning projects in Amsterdam, the four-storey building on the corner of Valentijnkade and Kramatweg, will be demolished. The residents will have to leave. Some promptly obey the authorities’ injunction, others take their time, and squatters settle in. The filmmaker follows the last occupants during the year prior to the works. Daily events bring to light stories and people: Agatha, who is going to lose her splendid view, Hedde and her son with their endless quarrelling, Madame Albert, who will miss the horse chestnut trees in the park, old Ko, and 96-year-old Uncle Willem… Before long, the demolition company will have taken everything from them-even their memories.
