Twenty nine years after Elles (1966), Ahmed Lallem meets up again with some of the young girls from his film: Souad, Farida, Hassina and Badra speak about their lives ad their choices and recall their teen-age. Some are in exile, others still living in Algeria. Their different life courses enable the filmmaker to explore the complex existence of Algerian women. Against the backdrop of thirty years of Algerian history, we discover not only their disappointments, but also their fighting spirit.
