Alternating archive material and fiction, the film is a tribute to the city of Algiers and was commissioned by the city authorities. It also blends different genres. Humour is present in Momo’s commentaries and in the peregrinations of two French tourists. A more serious tone emerges, however, when a former French soldier encounters an Algerian he had previously tortured.
