La Vie est une goutte suspendue

Hormuz Kéy
2006 France; Iran 83 minutes French

“Life Is a Suspended Drop is a documentary tale inspired by the relationship between Hormuz and Christian, a former philosophy teacher turned “diabetic actor”. Diabetes shapes his relation to the world, marked by real solitude and a feeling of utter abandonment. Thanks to the camera, which becomes an irreplaceable conversation partner whose place is constantly put into question, the beginning of a genuine friendship grows up in Christian’s world. The character is sensitive to words and painting, in love with the beauty of the young girls he meets and who nourish his existential gourmandise. The burlesque and tragic through-line is rhythmed by scenes of seduction in a life never won, by modesty and poetry.” (Hormuz Kéy)
