A Room with a View

Chambre avec vue
James Ivory
1985 United Kingdom 116 minutes English

Lucy Honeychurch, a young Englishwoman, makes her first visit to Florence, together with her cousin and chaperone, Charlotte Bartlett, an old spinster with stiff principles. Their trip would be perfect if only their rooms opened on to the Arno. The Emersons, who stay in the same guesthouse, offer to exchange their room with a view with them. Upon the happy ending of the story, Lucy and her husband will come back to Florence on their honeymoon. Feelings come to disturb the educational value of tourism, in the tradition of the Grand Tour, and according to the Baedecker guidebook.
