After « Un royaume vous attend » and « Le retour à  la terre », Pierre Perrault, in « Gens d’Abitibi », brings to an end his impassioned plea for a despoiled land – the Abitibi -, but this time he expresses himself on a more political note. This film records a failure : the failure of a system which has not lived up to the expectations of those who, in the 30’s, took part in the « wonderful adventure of the Colonies ».
