Taking advantage of one of Johan van der Keuken’s stop-overs in Paris, we led a delighted film-maker into the mysteries of the elevated railway and onto the jetty of Bercy’s river port. It was a magnificent, cold and luminous afternoon in February. In a warm atmosphere with which the interviews are tinged, a film about cinema, art, time, about a cineast’s work unfolded, as if naturally, filled with energy, tension and humour – for the duration of a film, of a journey on the elevated metro all round Paris.
