An item appeared in the Iranian press about a village boy who warned a train that the track was badly damaged by setting fire to his coat. A film crew was sent to make an epic film based on this incident. But, whilst the railway authorities completely denied the boy’s existence, the Governor-General recognised him as a hero. Dozens of heroes then came forward, each claiming to have saved the day.
