Au temps du Ramadan

The Ramadan of the first generation of immigrants was one of silence and discretion, almost to the point of invisibility. For subsequent generations, although Islam has tended to become a reference associated with their parents, Ramadan has now become an opportunity to assert both their cultural background and their origin. In Paris, Isaak and his family meet each day around the evening meal to talk about the past, Algeria and the way each of them is living the month of fasting.
