Bechkempir

Five old women, seated on a brightly coloured rug, carry out a complicated ritual around the cradle of an abandoned newborn child that they baptise as Azate. Grown to a teenager, the child discovers he’s a foundling, but makes no attempt to move away from his family and friends. On the contrary, he wants to resemble them as much as possible. The initiation rites and traditions enable him to become assimilated into the community little by little.
