A study on the upheaval occasioned by the handing back of landed property after the Velvet Revolution. Families settled back onto their ancestral land with nothing other than their own courage, their need to find lost roots and their desire to perpetuate tradition. The film questions the process and the changes it brings about in both personal and work relationships. The shooting took place in three villages, from winter 1993 until the following autumn.
