Twelve years after the military coup d’état, an Australian crew succeeded in entering Chile on the pretext of making a documentary on the country’s music and religious festivals. Three months later the footages smuggled out in an American nun’s suitcase had nothing to do with festivals: they told quite a different story, a story of a country rife with political repression and torture. The accusations, the reported missings, the kidnapping of a schoolteacher, Manuel Guerrero, pull the film to its brutal climax.
