Custodi di guerra

Custodi di guerra springs from a funeral that we don’t see: those of the filmmaker’s parents, recently discovered in a pit. “I though I had forgotten everything, but I remember every moment”. This return to his homeland, Bosnia, awake memories and a feeling of guilt he thought he had buried away for ever: the terror of war, the parents’ refusal to leave, the panic of escape and the anguish of exile… Beyond the places, the faces, the reunions, it is the weight of war in memory per se that the man suddenly discovers, an indestructible and invisible cancer that eats away from inside.
