A feminist film that questions the mother-daughter(s) relationship and the status and truth of filmic images. Michelle Citron manages to talk about her traumatic experience by delving into her family’s home-movie footage, and conducting wide-ranging investigations, interviews and clinical research. The film makes connections between what the women she meets have to say, and becomes a space of formal experimentation for a cinema of the future.
