In the 1950s, after 13 years of captivity in Russia, Mr Eimann, a Suddeten German, returns to his village. He comes up against the reality of the totalitarian regime and a certain hostility from the villagers. The old man had just turned 90 when the film was made and the filmmaker shows us the routine of his daily life. He talks of his painful past and the relationship he has with God and his fellow beings.
