Ballyfermot, an underprivileged district in Dublin, 1977. A day in the life of a group of four 12-year old boys: school-life and street-life, a grandmother who recounts her memories of the struggle against the Black and Tans around 1918, a “raid” on the apple trees in the orchard, an accident which leads to hospitalization, the father of one of the boys who finds himself unemployed.
