In 1985, the Israeli army withdrew from the village of Ain el-Mir and the Dagher family’s home was occupied by a radical armed resistance group. Ali Hashisho, a member of the group, was stationed in the Dagher family house. Before he left in 1991, he wrote the family a letter explaining why his group had occupied their home and welcoming them back.
