Final Judgment

After almost fifteen years on death row in Louisiana State Prison and thirteen reprieves Antonio James, sentenced for a murder and still claiming his innocence, has launched this final appeal against the deadly injection. The film follows this critical period up to 1st March 1996, and those around him-his close family, his lawyers, his spiritual advisors, the warden who is to administer the deadly injection and the prisoner Wilbert Rideau, a writer-journalist who had this death sentence commuted and is now trying to sensitise public opinion to the difficult problem of capital punishment.
