The lack of material, perhaps, constitutes an insurmountable obstacle to making a documentary on this famous architect? The filmmaker has decided to make images, always based on real or at least possible events, in order to recreate the biographical context. What the film does is convey a feeling of the times, using images saved from under the ruins of the Civil War, and enact fiction and cinema history in order to get closer to an evasive and little known figure.
