Invisible Hands, Unheard Voices
- 1989
- India
- 53 minutes
Invisible hands, Unheard voices are those of rural women in India. Their work status is barely recognised, and yet they slog from daybreak to nightfall, in the fields and at home. The film examines how the enforced invisibility of rural women leads to their marginalisation in a patriarchal society. It also highlights the impact of new technologies and state policies on the lives of women in village India.
