Deir Mar Moussa, a sumptuous stone monastery perched on the mountainside, houses a mixed community, who spend their time studying and developing a Christian-Islamic dialogue. Rituals and computers, laundry, cooking and meditation structure the days of the monks. Two characters guide the visiting filmmaker: an Italian cleric, half diplomat and half academic, and a young Damascene monk, whose songs and proverbs ring out among the stone walls and terraces.
