L’Eau douce amère

When Paulette Guignot, a canal lock-keeper from Corre, retired last August 31, a whole book of souvenirs gently folded. Memories of a woman with character, who lived through the development and evolution of the water transport industry. With her, past and present intermingle during 26 minutes. On one of her last days at work, we see her in perfect harmony with this universe of solitude and freedom typical of the profession, far removed from sensationalist and picturesque cliches.
