La Question des alliances

The 1997 general election. What can be done about the National Front? What can be done about Bruno Mégret’s offensive in the 12th electoral district in the Bouches-du-Rhône (Vitrolles, Marignane, Châteauneuf les Martigues)? These two questions are less relevant to the Left (national and local) than to the Right: the question of alliances is always a burning issue for right-wing parliamentarians, as there are principled positions and on-the-ground electoral realities.
