La Seine a rencontré Paris

From an idea by Georges Sadoul who, for the purpose, had meticulously observed the banks of the Seine and the multiple activities there, Joris Ivens, with Jacques Prévert’s complicity, has made a poetic film on a particular aspect of the capital : the workers, the boatmen, the tramps, the strollers, the lovers, all those enticed and bound by the Seine.
