Forty years ago, she decided to leave for India to give her life up to a humanitarian cause. In fact, she has never really returned. Caught between her social struggles and her family life, torn between two continents, this exemplary woman is also an absent mother. It is the emptiness left by her absence that I am now attempting to fill.
