A trilogy about some controversial subjects in Indonesia: colonial history and the start of modern Indonesia; the question of Papu (Irian Jaya) autonomy under the Soeharto regime; cultural identity and the touchy ethnic question. The film takes examples from the filmmaker’s fiction films.
