Le Temple

In the vocabulary of bullfighting, the “temple” is definitely the most untranslatable, the notion it represents being so woven into the mystery of the corrida. The “temple” is a rare, magical moment, when the vanquished bull, hypnotised by the bullfighter’ s slow movements, yields to the rhythms and figures imposed on him.
