Joris Ivens’ first 16-mm film. A reportage on Salvador Allende as the Socialist and Communist candidate in the 1964 presidential elections. Despite his million votes, Allende was beaten by the Conservative Frei. This affectionate but brief encounter with the great master, Ivens, left a deep impression on young Chilean filmmakers.
