After the prisoners’ rebellion in 1971, the Groupe d’Information sur les Prisons founded by Michel Foucault together with Jean-Marie Domenach and Pierre Vidal-Naquet brought the prison issue in the public debate. Former prisoners and wardens testify; on the street, passers-by are interviewed and say how they feel about what brought about the 1971 events.
