Les Voitures d’eau

This is Pierre Perrault’s third feature film at the Isle-aux-Coudres. The film broaches the problem of the builders and sailors of wood-built schooners, now that the age of metal boats is upon us. Sea-weathered men, the captains of these river schooners are witnessing the end of an era of craftmanship in which their sons will never find their place.
