The portrait of an unusual athlete whose small size) belies her determination and strength as a marathon runner. Michiko Gorman was born of Japanese parents in China and subsequently moved to the United States. Gorman set the world’s best for women at the Culver City Marathon on December just four years after starting to jog at age 33. Gorman went on to win the Boston Marathon twice and New York City Marathon twice during her career.
