Marseille contre Marseille

During the June 1995 municipal elections in Marseille, dominated by the presence of Bernard Tapie. In the heart of the North suburbs, the city’s most working-class area, the Nord Ambition association is the meeting point for Bernard Tapie’s supporters. They want to help Tapie win Marseille city hall and, in return, are counting on Tapie’s support to help them win their own district’s town hall. Riding on Tapie’s enormous popularity, they dream of finally being able to undermine the traditional Communist domination of these North suburbs.
