March 1993, the general elections, the overwhelming rejection of the Left plays out here without the national game being clouded by the particularities of Marseilles: here, the death blow had already fallen and burial and mourning were already underway. This kind of campaign required a particular filmic dispositif, two types of mise-en-scène. The first involves the production of discourse: a physical and political walk-around alongside the players showing the attrition of political parties, the disparagement of politicians and the never-ending consequences of the demise of Communism. The second involves how the discourse is received: scenes from the campaign, where the protagonists come face to face with their electors.
