Through the everyday life of a Hungarian village, we really get to know Alfonz Modve, an independent farmer who is enterprising and warm-hearter. He loves nature and animals, and also love celebrations and his family. Unjustly convicted for his activities as head of the village cooperative, then rehabilitated, he refuses the honours he is offered and takes us off with him into his own thoughts.
