Andrea Wolf had been the filmmaker’s best friend since their teenage years. Together, they had made feminist gongfu films. For a time, Andrea was suspected of belonging to the Red Army Fraction. But it was the army of the PKK (Kurdish worker’s party) that she joined in 1996. Shot dead while she was a prisoner of the Turkish army, she has now become an icon of the Kurdish resistance. Cinema, icons, myths, real destinies and prophetic films: a “situationist” approach to Andrea’s story.
