Reconstituirea

July 1959. The Romanian police arrest five men and a woman charged with robbing the National Bank – all are Jewish, and the men all had ties with the state apparatus. Six months later, a film scripted by the political police re-stages the crime, with the protagonists of the heist acting their own roles. Shortly after the filming, the men were sentenced to death, the woman to life imprisonment.
