Rio, quarenta graus

Five children from the shanty towns sell peanuts at the five best locations in Rio de Janeiro. At each spot, Copacabana, Sugarloaf, Corcovado, Quinta da Boa Vista and Maracana, a typical episode in the life of the carioca population takes place. Rio 40° is the first episode in an unfinished triptych marking the beginning of the Cinema Novo.
