For thirty five years, in Dublin’s coastal village of Booterstown, Martin Lysaght has run The Nook, a corner shop where all are welcome-be you schoolboy, housewife or nun. He creates an atmosphere of fun, offering customers prophesies on winners of horse races and football matches. One day, much to the regret of the locals, this former sailor decides to close his shop. Freed from his business responsibilities, Martin transforms his shop into a kind of sanctuary, where he escapes into a labyrinth of thoughts and memories.
