“A complex, reflective essay about the work of Cy Twombly revealing Marc’s own initial response to being shown his works. Twombly doesn’t appear in the documentary but his canvases are woven into a fiction about a man called M who confronted the painter’s work and then one day disappeared. Mark Karlin is unknown. He was the Chris Marker of British Cinema. He died early in 1999. I miss him every day.” (Keith Griffiths)
