The Weavers, the first and most influential modern-day folk singing group, Pete Seeger Lee Hays, Fred Hellerman and Ronnie Gilbert, had been seen as subversive during the McCarthy political witch hunts, their career had begun to fall apart and they had disbanded. In 1980, a reunion concert is held at Carnegie Hall for a historical performance.
