Tiempo de mujeres

Santa Rosa, a small market town near Cuenca, South Ecuador, is almost deserted. The inhabitants, especially the men, have emigrated to the United States, to Chicago or New York. The women stay in town, look after the homes, the children, the land and the town council. Division of families and nostalgy are part of everyday life, just as the struggle for survival through community organization.
