“Bobigny, a flat on the ground floor of a block. This is the meeting point to which separated couples and their children are instructed to go by the judge’s ruling. Every Saturday for a year, I filmed the story of some of these families. The parents who come here have been through a painful or violent break-up. One obtained custody of the child, the other was granted access, but as the clash was so deep-set, this arrangement was not enforced. To enable the child to see the father or the mother, the authorities had to be brought in again. The judge ordered that access to the child take place in this neutral zone. Every Saturday in this flat, mediators welcome the families.” (Claudine Bories)
