Visiting Jonas Mekas

We visit a filmaker – someone we admire ; we look at a few sequences of his diary, Lost, Lost, Lost ; we talk about it ; and this first visit comes to an end. Soon after, war breaks out. When we meet again, after the war, we are lost once more. “Time has stopped”, says visitor. Then it flows again. The film of this second visit takes the form of a diary intermingled with images of Mekas’s diary. Now, we stroll in the streets of New York, we drink beer, we paint Easter eggs, we talk about Paradise lost, we sing sad songs, we drink to happiness, we film… (Dominique Dubosc)
